Thursday 30 January


Done:
  • coffee, breakfast
  • filled all the water bottles in the kitchen, made sure there are three in my fridge
  • made mineral water
  • called barber and GP and made appointments
  • started daily Tummy Beast blog entry, updated Trello
  • changed cat litter tray 
  • watered all the containers in my courtyard
  • went through monthly notes and greatly embiggened 2020 online portfolio; printed out Silver Words January flyer and filed; printed out Hugh's Summer Camp layout and filed
  • rest and rehydration break, made mineral water
  • harvested carrots, kale and silverbeet for scrambled tofu
  • made scrambled tofu
  • showered and got dressed
  • 5:00pm took Dan to Silver Words

Wednesday 29 January

Done:

  • got into farm clothes 
  • coffee
  • filled all the water bottles in the kitchen, made sure there are three in my fridge
  • started daily Tummy Beast blog entry, updated Trello, annotated and filed BBQ recipe list, shopping list and running sheet in Hugh's portfolio
  • watered the rest of the indoor plants
  • removed tyre from dead apple tree; did one tank's worth of slashing in top orchard and plum orchard
  • rest and rehydration break, made mineral water
  • refilled water bottles and made sure there are three in my fridge
  • worked on pantry stocktake, menu plan/shopping list and planning for Lughnasadh BBQ feast - I gave Hugh the responsibility of drawing up the running sheet for the whole meal
  • did first tranche of sheet mulching
  • removed tyre and weeded out grass around little apple tree
  • did a second tranche of sheet mulching
  • harvested carrots, kale and silverbeet for scrambled tofu
  • made scrambled tofu
  • showered, washed hair and got dressed
  • put in load of laundry #1 
  • finished menu plan and shopping list; printed
  • Billy Hill, Salamanca Fresh, hardware store, Shiploads, Woolworths, wizarding challenge
  • unpacked perishables, fell in a heap
  • made bean loaf, roast veg and mushroom gravy for dinner  
  • did some layouts in 2020 online portfolio; printed flyer for Rainbow Prom and filed in Dan's 2020 portfolio
  • 9:30pm electronic curfew and bedtime

Tuesday 28 January

Still focusing on the garden today.

Done:

  • got into farm clothes 
  • emptied night bucket
  • coffee
  • started Tummy Beast blog entry, updated Trello   
  • filled all the water bottles in the kitchen, reminded Hugh to bring out the ones in his room
  • reorganised my "study" in the learning room to have the portfolio-stuffing station on the bookshelf
  • started Hugh's 2020 portfolio, finished planning food for the day
  • did one tank's worth of slashing in top orchard - thoroughly cleared next section for sheet mulching, including excavating all the rocks/bricks etc which had stopped me going right up to the cottage wall before now 
  • rest and rehydration break, made mineral water 
  • printed out portfolio labels for previous years, added to folders
  • Eric collected a car full of paper and cardboard and three more bags of horse poo (excellent husband!)
  • unpacked car (with Eric's help); did first tranche of sheet mulching
  • did a second tranche of sheet mulching before it started raining 
  • harvested carrots, kale and silverbeet for satay tofu noodles
  • made satay tofu noodles 
To Do - Inside:
  • menu plan and shopping list (after gardening)
  • catch up on Monday phone calls/contacts
  • work on handwriting with Hugh 
  • water rest of the indoor plants
  • put away Solstice stick
  • reset altar for Lughnasadh/Lammas, make a herb wreath
  • 15 minutes tidying up in my bedroom
  • empty compost
  • empty cat litter tray
  • cook lentil spaghetti sauce for Dan
  • cook rice; make spinach rice pie
  • make hummus
  • clean out my fridge, freeze black bananas
  • make rhubarb applesauce, and make some into chia puddings
  • showered, cleaned teeth and dressed; wizarding walk, return library books
  • 9:30pm electronic curfew and bedtime
To Do - Outside (Monday-Tuesday):
  • do one tank's worth of slashing in plum orchard/windbreak bed/path
  • weed out grass inside apple tree's tyre
  • cut back bush in windbreak
  • do a bonus tank's worth of slashing in the bottom chook run
  • harvest silverbeet for spinach rice pie
  • harvest rhubarb
  • fix hoop houses, plant seedlings
  • throw ash around the young plum trees (use a ladder)
  • deadhead roses 
    • by Dan's cottage
    • in front garden
  • block geese's access to the tomatoes in the courtyard with wire/netting
  • give geese more bedding
To Do - Inside + minimal outside (Wednesday-Friday):
  • water courtyards twice a day; water raised beds and guild pods once a day 
  • compost smoothies 
  • water rest of the indoor plants; repot umbrella tree or ficus into the new brass pot and rearrange that corner; add a hook for the new plant hanger
  • supermarket shopping, tip shop etc 
  • collect load of free timber etc in Waterloo (Friday) 
  • work on steampunk costume 
  • finish reorganising my "study" in the learning room to have the portfolio-stuffing station on the bookshelf - need to go through the in-trays and file portfolio stuff, relabel Dan's tray, and declutter/stocktake stationery supplies
